Barney\u2019s Pharmacy is an independently owned and operated full-service pharmacy that has proudly served the CSRA for more than 50 years. From the moment you walk through the doors of any Barney\u2019s Pharmacy location, you\u2019ll discover much more than a drugstore, you\u2019ll find a caring team of professionals dedicated to you and your family\u2019s well-being.<\/span><\/p>\n

Our mission is to serve the greater Augusta area and neighboring communities with a Christian heart. We take pride in delivering superior customer service that is second to none. Meet the Owner<\/strong><\/p>\n

Barry Bryant, RPh<\/strong>, is the owner and president of Barney\u2019s Pharmacy, Inc. A proud graduate of the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy, Barry has led the growth and success of Barney\u2019s Pharmacy for more than 40 years.<\/span><\/p>\n

Known for treating the community like family, Barry runs his business with a Christian heart and a servant\u2019s spirit. His commitment to compassionate care and community service continues to shape the culture and mission of Barney\u2019s Pharmacy. Always eager to give back, Barry\u2019s leadership reflects the same values that have defined Barney\u2019s for over half a century.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n

Barney\u2019s Pharmacy is a Family Business<\/strong><\/p>\n

Barry\u2019s passion for community pharmacy was passed down to his three daughters, all of whom graduated from the University of South Carolina College of Pharmacy. <\/strong><\/p>\n

The eldest, Vanessa Hoffman, oversees geriatric health at Barney\u2019s Pharmacy, making sure medications for long-term care patients are divided into easy-to-use, clearly marked daily dose packages. With a special accreditation in geriatric pharmacy, Vanessa visits nearby nursing homes to review the medication chart of each resident to make sure the treatments do not overlap or cause harmful interactions. Vanessa also manages the Specialty Department at Barney\u2019s Pharmacy, which provides more support for patients undergoing treatments in certain disease states including: oncology, hepatitis, cystic fibrosis, rheumatoid arthritis and many more. Additionally, Vanessa helps with upholding the standards for our ACHC Accreditation for our Specialty, DME, Compounding and Long-Term Care departments. Vanessa enjoys working alongside her father to manage the day-to-day activities. <\/strong><\/p>\n

The middle daughter, Stephanie Tankersley, has always been interested in overall health and wellness. She developed and implemented a chair aerobics class that was taught at the Barney\u2019s Pharmacy in Augusta and was featured in the New York Times<\/em>. <\/strong><\/p>\n

The youngest daughter, Brittany Smith, enjoys promoting overall health and specializes in the business side of Barney\u2019s Pharmacy. She helps manage the day-to-day activities at multiple locations. <\/strong><\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n

Barney\u2019s Pharmacy Milestones<\/strong><\/p>\n

1984: After graduating from the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy and working several years at Kroger Pharmacy, Barry became part owner of Barney\u2019s Pharmacy on Peach Orchard Road.<\/strong><\/p>\n

2000-2004: Barry creates and opens Medequip Healthcare and begins selling Durable Medical Equipment. Barney\u2019s Pharmacy also opens its Diabetes and Wellness Center for patient education.<\/strong><\/p>\n

2008-2011: Barney\u2019s Pharmacy expanded by adding Barney\u2019s Long-Term Care Pharmacy, Barney\u2019s Pharmacy in Wrens and Barney\u2019s Pharmacy in Louisville. Barney\u2019s Pharmacy also started their residency program with UGA and expanded the residency program to USC.<\/strong><\/p>\n

2012-2013: Barney\u2019s Pharmacy continued to expand by adding Barney\u2019s Pharmacy in Grovetown and Barney\u2019s Pharmacy at Serenity Behavioral Health. <\/strong><\/p>\n

2015: Barney\u2019s Pharmacy at Furys Ferry opens its doors. <\/strong><\/p>\n

2017-2018: Barney\u2019s Compounding Lab is remodeled and expanded to meet the new USP 800 requirements. <\/strong><\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n
